That is what it is all about- the journey and what you learn. It also makes for a fun blog to follow.Mrs. Wardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03102375541845774665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1257719465552331462.post-72133714512276372242011-02-27T07:52:03.573-08:002011-02-27T07:52:03.573-08:00I'm not sure, but I think I have met this guy&...I'm not sure, but I think I have met this guy's father on a similar date before. (I would say his older sibling, but that would be stretching things a bit far at my age). I can personally vouch for lousy dating experiences not being the exclusive domain of the young.
I know it is the trend, if not the norm, for people to go to the internet seeking something they can’t find in their everyday existence. I’m not bashing anyone who has (this would include me), who is, or who will be trying it. I just wonder if meeting people in virtual reality will ever compare to the experience of discovering someone face to face, in real time, without the ability to correct spelling and grammar, and avoiding any embarrassing faux pas with careful editing.
Hence, this is my conundrum (and possibly yours?). If I seek a real time experience that benefits from the use of all five senses, but the majority of folks are camped out in front of a computer screen, what is the likelihood I will discover what I seek in a chance meeting or real life encounter? It’s a damn good thing I am an optimist by nature. I am not willing to let go of the hope that what I seek can be found. Granted, Prince Charming will have aged since his first film debut. He will be a bit greyer, less sculpted, and possibly not as healthy – but the trade off is that he has had the time to mature and develop characteristics I favor – wisdom, patience, humor and integrity.Shirleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09908816831219438574noreply@blogger.com
